1.
The funny thing about aspiration (if you know what I know, it’s funny, anyway) is that you get what you put in, but satisfaction ain’t ever part of the deal. Never gonna get it. Why? Spring forward, fall behind. Another late November wreaks havoc on my mind. With the darkness inside me and out, I sit around and wait for the light.
2.
Felt Cute 01:22
Not to plant a seed of my own negativity, but this screams of nights spent screaming and I don’t wanna feel feelings anymore, till someone tells me what I’m fighting for. I don’t want to waste my time, I just wanna be wasted in general. And at this rate, what kind of legacy will I leave? And what’s it worth, my whole life boiled down to a meme?
3.
Gatekeeper 02:23
Every now and then I get the feeling that we’re on to something. Every now and then, I get the feeling we’re lost. By and by we’ll get by on another awful cliché, just keep in mind that I’m bitter and so exhausted. We’re all living (waiting, livid, with it) in the age of cynicism. The teeth on my comb are fine and if your band sounds way better than mine, I might be out, but I doubt you’d surprise me and you’re bitter.
4.
Happy Frown 01:31
Clenching your fists again, you wanna chase the sunrise. You’re just waiting for my eyelids to fall when I turn a blind eye tonight. It’s easier to lie. Grinding your teeth again. Dare I call it out? Or is it better for the photo op? Raise your glass and we’ll feign a life worth living.
5.
Long Lake 03:14
6.
No More 01:37
For one last time, I’ll meet you here before I intervene with this crippling feeling. I picked you up, you held me down too many times before I realized I don’t need you no more. The pang at every hour. Like I’m afraid to be alone. Just got my legs in the city, now it’s time to walk away, time to leave you behind.
7.
Started from the bottom, now we’re still here. You move so fast and we might disappear. We’re stuck in real time. Below the dirt, we’re the salt of the earth. The air is cool beneath your shadow. Those strings attached we’ll never know. So low.
